UK Data Deal Extended – What It Means for Your Business

What’s Happening?

The EU has extended its data sharing agreement with the UK for six more months until 27 December 2025. This ensures that businesses can continue transferring personal data between the EU and UK without interruption.

Why the Extension?

The UK passed a new Data Protection and Digital Information Bill. The EU needs time to assess whether the new rules still meet its standards for data protection. Until then, the previous rules (from 2021) stay in effect.

Why It Matters for You

✅ Your EU / UK data transfers are still valid

✅ No immediate action is needed

✅ Stay alert for possible changes in 2026

What’s Next?

The EU will decide later this year if the UK’s new law still qualifies for full adequacy. We’ll be watching closely and will share any important updates.
